Andre Pierre, North Miami Mayor, Calls Councilman Michael Blynn’s Daughter A Prostitute In City Council Meeting Dustup
…
“What happens if I say your daughter’s a prostitute?” shot back Pierre, who clearly didn’t enjoy the jab at his nephew. “What happens if I say your daughter’s a prostitute?”
…
Blynn responded that neither of his daughters have ever been arrested for prostitution, but Pierre didn’t let up: “You don’t have to be prosecuted to be a prostitute,” he said, as the meeting dissolved into shouts.
“You called my daughter a prostitute? How dare you! How dare you!” yelled Blynn’s wife at Pierre from a podium, according to reports, before Pierre declared the meeting closed and asked security to escort her from the meeting. “Would you get her out of here please?” he asked, as a councilperson bravely soldiered on with the garbage debate.

Editors note: This is the second segment of a three-part series on efforts to curtail prescription drug abuse in the county. The third and final part will be published next week.
PINELLAS PARK Undercover Detective Barry Touart has had a front row seat to prescription drug trafficking in Pinellas Park.
And it aint pretty.
Theyre hiding these pills in places that you will not believe, he said. That to me was a shock: theres no shame. Theres no self-value. They let everything go so bad; its sad.
Touart is fairly new as a detective, having joined the Pinellas Park Police Department three years ago. As a member of the vice and narcotics unit, his caseload can include prostitution, gambling, alcohol and any sort of drug. But these days, the unit tends to focus on prescription drugs.

… What happened in the two cases, they are very similar in nature,” noted Cruz. “This is why we believe that he is a serial rapist, if you will. These young ladies were just walking down the street, and he came from behind. He choked them.”
The woman who said she knows them echoed the MO police described. “He grabs them by the neck, he puts them to sleep and he takes their clothes off. He drags them somewhere else, and he rapes them,” she said.
Police are now looking for help from anyone who can help with information on Warren’s activities. “He raped these two young ladies,” said Cruz, “homeless prostitutes. However, our investigators believe that there are more victims or more witnesses that can assist us with putting this puzzle together. We feel we might have a serial rapist on our hands.”

Recession? What Recession? Sports enthusiast Lil Wayne decided to check out a boxing match at a popular strip club in Miami. The Young Money honcho had a front row seat for a prize fight between two strippers at the gentlemen’s club King of Diamonds.
The ‘She Will’ rapper was cheering on a female pugilist in purple shorts named Kiki who was pummeling her opponent on the ropes. “She’s my little sister,” he says. In the end, Weezy awarded the winner Kiki with $1,000 in singles for her vicious left and right jabs.
According to TMZ, Wayne spent the next three hours making it rain on various exotic dancers. In total, he spent $30,000 in tips while he was at the club. If you do the math, that $10,000 an hour. It must be nice.

Lil Wayne has seen so many strippers, he’s now tired of watching them strip — so last Monday, he watched them beat the crap out of each other instead … and then dropped a $1,000 tip on the lucky winner. Weezy hit up the famous King of Diamonds in Miami for its special fight night — sitting above the ring like strip club royalty … you gotta see the clip. The chick in the purple trunks is the clear winner — pinning the other stripper against the ropes with some nasty one-twos — and moments later, Wayne rewarded her with a giant stack of singles … amounting to $1,000. Several sources inside the club tell TMZ, Wayne spent three hours at KOD that night … and dropped around $30,000 over the course of the evening. On strippers. (TMZ)

Ponzi Clown Scott Rothstein Spent $60,000 a Month on Prostitutes
…
“So let’s talk about the gross, I mean gross as in the large number,” Rothstein was instructed in one of the few times where really either definition of gross would have sufficed. “Let’s talk about the gross number that you were spending on prostitutes a month at let’s say its height for you and for your friends and associates.”
…
I live in the 350 building and I was horrified that Scott used my building for his escorts. That is so disgusting. Cant they look on the cameras to see who was visiting their apartment.? I am sure that mr. rosenfeld and Mr. Asdler were visiting… BP publish the names of prostitutes WHAT a loser – steals a billion dollars and has to PAY for pussy. How pathetic is that especially with a stunning call girl wife like Kim. You know what I see when I look at you? America’s got a sad future ahead of it TotalComments: 4

Burkhart had been in court Thursday afternoon. Harry Burkhart launched into an obscenity-laden tirade, saying ‘(Expletive) the United States!’ said Thom Mrozek, spokesman at the US Attorney’s office in Los Angeles.
Mrozek said Burkhart was detained and later escorted out of the courthouse. He said Burkhart did not make any specific threats against anyone or property at his mother’s court hearing.
Galina Illarionova, who lives in the same apartment complex as the suspect, said through a Russian translator that an agitated Burkhart visited her Sunday and said his mother was having some kind of legal problems.
He told her his mother was in trouble with authorities and wanted Illarionova to attend a legal hearing with him, but he later said he didn’t need her help.
A domain name for a website offering appointment-only sensual massage is registered to Dorothee Burkhart. Her name is not mentioned on the website, which states the service is not prostitution.

Rothstein said that, in hopes of a reduced sentence, he was telling prosecutors about everyone involved in his scheme and about police officers and others whom he bribed with cash or encounters with prostitutes.
Recommendation’s Message
A recommendation from Centurion, Platinum and Level 3 would have been a lie because he had stopped paying them, Rothstein said. He said Meir Nordlicht, Platinum’s chief investment officer, and Jack Simony, a portfolio manager, agreed to help.
“My only concern was that, at the end of the day, they would lie for us,” Rothstein said. “That was my concern. They didn’t want this to blow. I didn’t want it to blow up. I had been assured by Mr. Simony and Mr. Nordlicht that they would not let it blow up.” Ray Casas, a spokesman for the funds, said Rothstein gave inconsistent accounts and the executives didn’t lie about the fraud.
…
Rothstein said he worried the drug dealing might get someone’s attention. He didn’t worry about the prostitutes in the office.

… The primary objective of redeveloping Sunrise is to make it a destination location for residents and visitors and to restore the park’s role as a vital and integral part of East Haddam and the surrounding communities, DEEP said. Although the DEEP has no fixed plan for the park’s redevelopment, there are elements that will be strongly preferred by DEEP. These elements should preserve the natural, cultural and historic resources of the property; ensure public access; demonstrate an economic benefit to the state and region; demonstrate sensitivity to the development that is appropriate to the site; and use sustainable, energy efficient building practices.
DEEP will consider proposals for development and new construction such as: recreational and educational facilities; short- or extended-stay accommodations including camping, RVs and cabins; hospitality uses include hotel, banquet and conference facilities; and food service and small-scale retail facilities.
It will not permit permanent or long-term residential uses; industrial or manufacturing uses; telecommunications towers or adult entertainment enterprises.

The most talked-about lady of 2011 is inside the magic box.
Her name is Siri, the “intelligent software assistant” that debuted in October in the new iPhone 4S. She pops up with a ding when you lift your phone, an acerbic substitute for the phone book and even Google. Need her to text someone while your hands are busy? She’ll do it. Need to know the weather? Boom, done.
But Siri, the scamp, has earned a reputation for being a little wiggy, a little naughty, a little saucy. She’ll interrupt your attempts to check voicemail. She’ll call your Aunt Pat when you want to dry your damp cat. She has been chided for looking up prostitutes, and for not looking up abortion clinics.

Rothstein Claims Cops, Prostitutes Mingled at Law Firm
Shocking allegations made in depositions of convicted Ponzi schemer
Drug-dealing employees, prostitutes and mobsters were among the seedy characters who could be found at convicted Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein’s Fort Lauderdale law firm, according to transcripts released Tuesday of his closed-door deposition.
And if that weren’t enough, Rothstein claims some of South Florida’s finest could also be seen walking the halls of the no-defunct Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler law firm, according to the transcripts obtained by the Sun-Sentinel.
“Mob guys, law enforcement, even judges from time to time, not federal judges, would show up,” Rothstein said.
The disbarred lawyer claims the cops’ presence made it easier to deal with the hookers.
“The police also were sleeping with my escorts,” Rothstein said. “Broward Sheriff’s Office, Fort Lauderdale Police Department weren’t going to bother me, OK, I could have had all the escorts I wanted.”

Records recently obtained by the St. Petersburg Times reveal disturbing new details surrounding the incident that morning and confirm something that many had long suspected — that Miles was on drugs at the time of the crash.
A toxicology report indicated that Miles’ blood contained oxycodone and alprazolam.
The news didn’t shock Anita McCain.
“It makes me angry that someone with that much medication in her would even consider getting behind the wheel,” she said. “But I’m not surprised.”

After Miles left the Brass Flamingo, a Port Richey strip club where she worked as a dancer under the stage name of “Liza,” at least three people called 911 in the early hours of May 10 to report that she was driving erratically in a red Dodge Ram.

TAMPA, Fla. — The city’s strip club king is opening a private park he owns for Occupy Tampa protesters.
The Tampa Tribune reports that Joe Redner is hosting a community luncheon for protesters and others at the park in west Tampa Saturday afternoon. The activist group Food Not Bombs will distribute clothes, blankets and food at the event.
Occupy Tampa protesters have maintained a presence in a waterfront park in downtown Tampa since Oct. 9. It grew out of the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations in New York protesting economic and social inequality.
Redner owns the city’s best-known strip club, Mons Venus. He’s also a community activist who has unsuccessfully run for public office a number of times through the years.

2011 has been an interesting one for Luther Campbell, aka Uncle Luke. The legendary Miami artist and record label owner made a bid for Mayor of his hometown Miami-Dade county.
“They call me a daredevil,” he says of the move. “A couple times I thought what am I doing?”
His plan included a stripper tax (that probably didn’t go over well with his core fans) and he finished with 11% of the vote. But the opportunity lead to a mini-movie based on his life being submitted to the Sundance film festival. Always a hustler.
Luke also made news earlier in the year for challenging adopted Miami resident Lil Wayne to give back to the Miami community that he has made his new home. Luke set a January 1st deadline or else Weezy would have his “Miami card revoked.”

After four seasons under Ireland’s rule, the Dolphins still don’t have a seam-threat tight end. They still don’t have a stable offensive line. They still don’t have a reliable free safety. They still don’t have consistent cornerback corps.
Oh yeah, and they still don’t have a franchise quarterback.
Sure, Miami boasts a very young, very talented roster. But a “great foundation?”
Not quite.
It almost seems like Ross hasn’t paid close attention to Ireland’s perpetual failures over these past four years. He had his opportunity to build a championship-caliber team here, and he failed.
He whiffed horribly on prospects like Chad Henne, Pat White and Patrick Turner, and he inked free-agent busts like Gibril Wilson, Ernest Wilford, Jake Grove, Justin Smiley and Reggie Torbor. These wasted draft picks and grossly high contracts still haunt the team today.
And let’s not forget about Ireland’s other miscues.
Remember when he asked Dez Bryant if his mother was a prostitute?

But after one of Linda Chestnut’s sons was sentenced to prison years ago, she started abusing cocaine, her daughter said. Her daughter urged her to improve her life, but the trouble endured.
“I would tell her, ‘I love you,’” Chestnut said. “I never gave up on her. I still worshiped the ground she walked on.”
The night before she was found dead, Linda Chestnut was working as a prostitute on Sistrunk Boulevard between Northwest 12th and Northwest 15th avenues, police said.
The next morning in the 200 block of Northwest 18th Avenue, an employee at a nearby forklift company found her body in a field, police said. There were signs that Chestnut had attempted to flee before being killed, police said.
The shooter could be a local resident experienced in hiring prostitutes, police said.

New $500 penalty targets drivers who buy drugs or pick up prostitutes in Tampa
By Richard Danielson, Times Staff WriterTampa Bay Times Posted: Dec 15, 2011 10:42 AM
TAMPA — The cost of an arrest for buying drugs or picking up a prostitute on Tampa streets is about to go up $500.
City Council members voted 6-1 Thursday to add the penalty for drivers whose cars are impounded after a drug or prostitution arrest.
…
Under the new ordinance, owners who didn’t realize a non-owner was going to use the car to pick up a prostitute or buy drugs could get it back without having to pay the $500. After that driver’s first arrest, however, owners would lose the ability to claim they didn’t know the driver might use the car for those crimes.

On Tuesday, dozens of Miami Beach residents stood on the front steps of the Miami Beach Convention Center and protested the casino officials who are trying to legalize. “No casinos in Miami Beach!” one demonstrator shouted.
“It would just overwhelm everything. And the traffic, woah!” exclaimed Elizabeth Fischer, who opposes the casino idea.
Irene Sperver also rallied against the casino. “It’s going to switch the gears on the whole city, and it’s not a city that I care to live in,” she said.
Casinos in Miami-Dade County are a hotly-debated issue. Miami Beach city officials, including the mayor, are also against the idea of a casino being established in the city.
Billionaire car mogul Norman Braman spoke out about his opposition to the casino-style resorts at a forum held on Monday. According to Braman, the presence of the casinos would bring about “crime, burglaries, rape, prostitution. That’s what the numbers indicate all over the country.”

Democrats are accusing the Republicans of playing politics with tax cuts for the middle and working classes, because the party always supports tax cuts for the rich.
But Republicans counter it’s the president playing politics with some 20,000 construction jobs needed to build the $7-billion pipeline. A further 100,000 indirect jobs could also be created once crude from Alberta’s oilsands starts to flow to Texas.
“The American people want jobs,” Speaker John Boehner told reporters here Monday evening. “This is as close to a shovel-ready project as you’re ever going to see.”
The omnibus bill also includes measures to allow states to require drug tests from unemployment insurance applicants, prevent welfare recipients from using their electronic benefits cards at casinos and strip clubs, block a new Environmental Protection Agency law curbing industrial pollution, and prevent illegal immigrants from receiving the children’s tax credit, among other measures.
